The Group of Friends currently gathers more than 80 governments and multilateral organizations that manifest their commitment to the principles of the Alliance and express their will to cooperate in finding a solution to the lack of cross cultural understanding and communication

The Group’s membership receives regular updates of the Alliance activities mainly  from  the Secretariat staff, the permanent missions of the co-sponsoring governments of the Alliance, Spain and Turkey,  at the UN Headquarters in New York and, recently, from the High Representative himself.

The Group has turned into an essential tool in applying the High Level Group Report’s recommendations worldwide, as well as developing the Implementation Plan proposed by the High Representative.

The Group’s membership will surely play a key role in the development of the Alliance’s priority projects at an international level, and will also act as catalyst for the development at national and regional level.
